Sumatra Orangutan Lake Toba Tours

Day 1
Arrive in Medan. We will fectch you from the airport & proceed to Bahorok/Bukit Lawang, the orangutans rehabilitation centre. The journey leads you past the scenic rubber & palm oil plantations. In the afternoon you will arrive in Bahorok. Overnight stay in Eco Lodge Bukit Lawang Cottages, located directly on the bank of Bahorok river.

Day 2
Bahorok - Brastagi. After breakfast, we will walk for around 45 minutes at the side of Bahorok river to the orangutans feeding area. Prior to arrival at rehabilitation centre you have to cross the river by small wooden canoe. then do a short climbing through the tropical rainforest at the slope of Mt.Leuser. watching the part ranger feeds the orangutans. It is suggested to have comfortable sportive shoes. At noon we depart to Brastagi via Medan. Brastagi is mountain resort in the Karo Highland that surroundings with two active volcanoes, Sibayak & Sinabung. Before we arrive in hotel, you can also make a stop at fruits market. Overnight stay in hotel Brastagi Cottages in Brastagi.

Day 3
Brastagi - Samosir island. In the morning you will visit Dokan, a traditional batak Karonese village. Here you can observe traditional houses of the tribe & daily activities of the villagers. After that depart to Lake Toba. En route we can stops at the Sipiso-piso waterfall with its splendid view over the lake Toba & resorted Royal Palace of King Purba at Pematang Purba. You can also make couple stops at pineapple, ginger & cofee plantations that belong to the local farmers. In the afternoon you will arrive in Parapat at the lake Toba, from where you embark the ferry to cross the lake to Samosir island. Overnight stay in hotel Carolina or Toba cottages, located on the lake side.

Day 4
Samosir - Tour on this island. After breakfast we will make excursion to several Batak Toba villages on this island. First we visit Simanindo village where you can see a performance of traditional Batak Toba dances, then to Ambarita village where you can hear the interesting legend of it's megalithic cultural objects & finally to the noble cemetery of King Sidabutar in Tomok. During the excursion you will have a chance to walk & see the way of life of the local Batak Toba tribe. Overnight stay in hotel Carolina on Samosir island in the middle of lake Toba. Your room has beautiful view to the lake Toba.

Day 5
Samosir island - airport of Medan via Pematang Siantar. Today we will transfer your back to Medan. You will drive through endless plantations of rubber, palm oil & cacao. Upon arrival proceed to the airport for your flight to next destination. End of your tour with us.
